Bronze
Some of my carvings are cast in bronze. Each bronze is signed and numbered and is one of an edition of 15, 25 or 50.
I use two bronze foundries: Lunts Castings in Birmingham, and MB Fine Arts Foundry in Pembrokeshire. Both these foundries use the ‘lost wax’ method of casting, a process which has remained essentially unchanged for thousands of years. The patination is done by MB Fine Arts and is often particularly subtle and interesting, giving a completely different quality and beauty to the sculptures.
As each piece is individually patinated, every one is unique. Because the bronzes are cast from the original woodcarvings they, too, appeal to the hand as well as the eye.
